I Was Recently on a Podcast… Here’s What We Didn’t Get to Say
A few days ago, I had the chance to sit down for a conversation on the Future In Flight podcast.
We talked about aviation.
We talked about sales.
We talked about how someone ends up in an industry they didn’t even know existed.

What the Podcast Captured (and What It Didn’t)
Podcasts are interesting.
You get 30–60 minutes to tell a story that actually took years to live.
So you hit the highlights:
Where you started
What changed
What you’re doing now
But what doesn’t always make it in…
are the parts that actually matter.
The uncertainty.
The doubt.
The moments where you almost didn’t follow through.
The Part Most People Skip Over
When I first got into aviation, I didn’t have a plan.
I wasn’t “passionate about aviation since I was 5.”
I didn’t grow up around jets.
I didn’t have connections.
I just said yes to something that felt… different.
And if I’m being honest, it didn’t feel safe.
It didn’t feel certain.
It didn’t feel like a “smart” move.
But it felt like a shot.
And sometimes that’s all you get.
What I Wish I Could Have Said More Clearly
If you’re reading this, there’s a decent chance you’re in a similar spot.
You’re:
Curious
Exploring
Maybe even excited
But you’re also hesitating.
You’re thinking:
“I need to learn more first”
“I’m not ready yet”
“I don’t know if this is for me”
Here’s the reality:
That feeling doesn’t go away.
There’s no point where you suddenly feel 100% ready.
At some point, you just decide to move.
A Behind-the-Scenes Truth About This Career
A lot of people ask:
“What does it really take to become a jet broker?”
The honest answer?
Less than you think…
and more than you’re currently doing.
You don’t need:
A license
A perfect resume
Years of aviation experience
But you do need:
Consistency
Willingness to be uncomfortable
The ability to hear “no” over and over again
Early on, success isn’t about being the best.
It’s about staying in the game long enough to get your shot.
Why I Did That Podcast
It wasn’t to talk about myself.
It was because I know there are people out there—maybe you—
who are sitting exactly where I once was.
Working hard.
Doing fine.
But knowing there’s more.
And not knowing where to go with that feeling.
So Here’s My Ask
Don’t just listen to the podcast and move on.
Actually sit with it.
Ask yourself:
Is this something I’d regret not exploring?
Am I actually stuck… or just comfortable?
Because those are two very different things.

Or schedule a call and we’ll talk through where you are and where you’re trying to go.
No pitch. No pressure.
Just clarity.
Final Thought
Most people will read something like this, feel inspired for about 10 minutes…
and then go right back to what they were doing.
A few won’t.
Be careful which group you end up in. ✈️
